We are Cow and this is what we've been playing at
It's that time of the year again and dressing for Valentine's Day is one of the biggest stresses for the day - even if you're just celebrating Palentine's Day or planning to keep it minimal. The romantic in ya wants to wear a look that you love and we've got you sorted with straightforward outfits for every occasion.
Check out how Phoebe, the head honcho of Cow Manchester, pulled together her best picks to keep you styling on the day of love.
1. Boss Ass Bitch
Smarten up with a sassy satin pant, cropped blazer and sequinned top. This look is for anyone who has to work on the big day - but still wants to feel like a special sweetheart. Strut over to the copier while maintaining eye contact with your office crush knowing that you're going to win the Fittest Gal at Work award this year.
2. Galentine's Day
Keeping it casual this year with the girls? Jeans and a nice top has been given an update with reworked denim, a biker jacket and our best burgundy bardot top. Perfect for brunching, lunching or boozing - this is the ultimate 'I Don't Care' vibe that will look super peng on everyone's Instagram stories.
3. Date Night
If you're one of the lucky amongst us to have a partner - a partner who wants to do anything on Valentine's Day, that is - then get a load of these brand new co-ords that just hit the site. Handmade from silky kimonos, they guarantee that your date night look will be one of a kind. (Which will remind your other half just how lucky they are to have an individual like you.)
4. Goth Vibes
And finally, if you're fed up with heart shaped chocolates and naff teddy bears stick your fingers up to the lovey dovey vibe and rock a more grunge look this February 14th. A glittery dress layered in black - and this iconic black leather trench - will mean you'll still stand out in a crowd no matter what you end up doing on the day.WHAT TO WEAR FOR VALENTINE'S DAY

It's less than one month until Christmas and we're far from ready for facing the end of the year, let alone buying Christmas presents for everyone and their nan (and our nans.) To try and stick to our ethos of keeping retail eco friendly, we wanted to give our gorgeous customers some ideas to make their gifts vintage this year.
Maybe it is notoriously hard to buy clothes for Christmas presents - and have them like it anyway - but with our top tips here's hoping that you can snag a prezzie that is adored by the person who receives it. And if not? Here's our Christmas returns policy.
Whether you're panicking about purchasing before December hits or you're taking it slow with gift getting this year, our vintage gift guide will hopefully inspire at least a couple of ideas for the loved ones in your life.
1. A Classic Jumper
You can't always be sure with a Christmas sweater or a snazzy 80's jumper, but a quality bit of classic knit is almost universally adored. Plus, unlike it's Christmas jumper cousin, you can actually wear it for more than just one week a year.
2. One of a Kind Custom
Take your pick from our latest line of Custom clothing, all customised by hand with tools like airbrushing, screen printing, bleaching and more to make one of a kind garments you cannot get anywhere else. A fav for the environmentally conscious, our Custom line saves damaged garments from getting chucked away.
So if you're shopping for the more quirky among us, we'd definitely recommend putting the pennies towards a Custom item.
3. Reworked Best Sellers
Take your pick from our rework range that also takes damaged vintage and turns it into new (and less out-there) pieces. More specifically, the Ollie dress is an almost guaranteed hit as one of our best selling products, handmade from Ralph Lauren shirts into a strappy slip dress.
4. Vintage Denim
Whether you're glam, goth or grunge, a classic bit of denim will never go amiss - especially a denim jacket that will go with every look. If you know your Secret Santa recipient well enough, it might be worth looking into our Custom denim or reworked denim styles but if not? A classic denim jacket is a staple in any wardrobe and will always be welcomed.
5. Champion Sweaters
You don't need us to tell ya, a Champion sweater (or any plain sweater, really) is a fan favourite. High quality and comfy af, if you haven't nicked one from a partner at one point in your life, we're sure your partner has pinched one from you. Give the gift of warmth with one of our colour block sweaters this season.
We'll be the first to admit maybe we could provide more in the way of vintage accessories - maybe our 2020 New Years resolution? - but you have to give it to us, these chokers made from salvaged hardwear are hard to pass up. The right jewellery will always make a thoughtful gift to the right person.
7. Gift Vouchers
We can't be the only ones who think gift cards get a bad rap considering the freedom they give a person. Let your loved one choose their perfect present with less stress for you and more freedom for them! We're offering online vouchers and in store gift vouchers for y'all this season (and all year around too.)
So what are you waiting for? Get shopping for the best vintage gifts out there before someone else nabs your perfect prezzie.OUR VINTAGE GIFT GUIDE

It feels like we've been binge watching Friends our whole life and on the most recent rerun, it's hard to avoid how great the fashion in Friends really is. While 90s style is definitely still sticking with us for a while, we thought it would be fun to dress up our favourite Friends in current trends.
Taking key points from the show's styles, we've created outfits based on each character that represents how we think they would dress in 2019. (Or 2020, seeing as it's basically the new decade already.) Check em out below and see who's look you'd like to cop.
A classic blue jeans and a graphic tee look for Chandler would give him a more casual vibe in 2019 while sticking true to the 90s style of the show. Check out all our Levi's here and get this sick Disney t-shirt too for the full outfit.
Monica loved collared shirts and a whole load of denim, so we updated the look with one of our Custom skirts and a Wrangler denim jacket that has a prominent collar and overdyed colour. Monica in 2019 would love this more statement take on her casual - almost butch - outfits.
Joey's style didn't need much updating to get it on trend for 2019. An oversized sweater paired with blue jeans is a classic outfit that in't going anywhere. We've even paired it with some 90s trainers to keep the Tribiani style authentic.
The quirkiest of all the Friends, Phoebe would be all over our Custom clothing that is ethically sourced and then handmade in the UK. With all our vintage and Custom styles being one of a kind pieces, we can totally imagine Phoebe in this green tie dye velvet tee contrasted with our outline Carhartt jeans. When you take away Ross Geller's forays into leather jeans and Frankie Says Relax crop tops, his style is comfy and classic. Pairing black denim with a striped tee is a much better look than that iconic salmon shirt he wore on the show.
The most fashion forward of all the Friends, Rachel's casual looks were just as cool as her more designer looks as the show went on. Dressing down a tie front denim top to match her waistcoat ways, we've paired it with a Custom mini skirt that ties in with Rachel's love of designer and a graphic 90s tee so we don't totally depart from the decade.
By mixing iconic 90s styles with a more modern look, we've made our Friends bang on trend while keeping true to the characters we've loved for 30 years.WHAT THE FRIENDS CAST WOULD WEAR IN 2019

We're back back back again with a styling blog to show you our top tips on taking one of our garms - this time a Connie tie front top - and get more wear than ever from your vintage wardrobe. Instead of the fast fashion ethos to buy clothes to only wear them once, we want you to adore the vintage clothes you buy from us for life. It's all a part of our eCow promise - shop for life, not just for one look.
So stop and drop some coins on a versatile bit of vintage kit you can rock all year round in all sorts of ways. While Lizzie wears our camo Connie top, you can copy these styling tips for any tie front top.
AS IT IS
What can we say? It was made this way for a reason - rock your tie front top with your fav pair of vintage pants for a stylish, balanced look. You can buy the velvet flares Lizzie is wearing here (if you want to cop the whole outfit.)
Lizzie put her thing down, flipped it and reversed it with this styling choice. Rocking the tie front top backwards makes for a high neck t-shirt at the front and party in the back with a new tie back detail and exposed back.
DRESS IT UP
Who said a crop top has to be a casual look? By pairing our tie front with a dreamy animal print vintage skirt, Lizzie has turned a day outfit into a going out style that you can wear wherever requires a more chic look - without sacrificing your grunge principles.
Take your summer top into the colder months by pairing it with a turtleneck, mesh top or a layering tee. Unless, of course, you're brave enough to bare skin when it's under 15 degrees.4 WAYS TO STYLE A TIE FRONT TOP

It's one of our best sellers, the Ollie dress is handmade from vintage Ralph Lauren shirts into a one of a kind strappy slip dress. Always made in the UK, always in a different shirt style from the next, this bit of rework has seen us through summer in style and with ease, because there's nothing worse than being layered up during the heat.
A slip dress is one of our favourite styles to see back on trend this year, as styling the simple dress can be done in so many ways - each to a customer's unique fashion point of view. For this styling series on the blog, we're getting members of our team (this time photo assistant Toni McCoy-Hopwood) to show off different ways to rock some of our best vintage pieces.
OVER A TEE
Go for the 90s look by placing your slip dress over a cute tee, for a pop of colour and a more casual kind of style. You can buy this vintage lime crop top here.
WITH A BELT
This styling choice is all about the accessories - by bringing in a belt you can change the slip style of the Ollie dress to fit in at the waist. Piling on patterned accessories is a great way to contrast with the block colour of this particular Ollie, and you can buy the leopard print denim jacket Toni wore here.
TUCKED INTO SHORTS
When you're tired of strutting your stuff in an Ollie slip dress, remember you can always access a bit of versatility from your purchase by tucking it into shorts or jeans. This way your pretty little dress can become the perfect vest for rocking as part of jeans and a nice top. Or in this case, shorts and a cute top. You can buy the JNCO shorts Toni wears here.3 WAYS TO STYLE AN OLLIE DRESS

In line with our reuse and recycle ethos outlined in our eCow promise, our rework collection takes out of date vintage and updates it to new styles, all handmade in the UK. Customising your style with one of a kind pieces is reflected in everything we do and most recently, in our collaboration with Donk, a Manchester based design house.
The launch of the collab this month in our Manchester store went down a storm and we're working on getting Donk to the masses before the end of the summer.
To see more from Donk follow the brand on Instagram and check out the video below for a BTS on how they turn boring vintage into bang on trend looks.
